Well put! they deserve it!! as google search so much better in different markets they seriously need to change their practises...

BBC is so much better in the uk with different coverage for different sport on their tv channel and on the web with iPlayer... Thank you BBC

an a side side i questioned My Live team about not having a link on Live.com this is what they said:

"BV2312 - The link from Live Search to the personalized pages was a temporary item while we completed the transition of the personalized pages to my.live.com.

We've been advised that they do not intend to continue hosting a link to My.live.com going forward. On the page viewing issue, we have had one other user report this.

Looks like the mobile page is still in a beta version - we'll have to ask about a link there."

I can't believe they do not have a link to My Live anywhere!!!

Chris: Thanks for the shoutout. We do have the capability to do images for all markets, however, the work involved in enabling 2 images a day for all markets for 3 weeks was non-trivial. We are spending time now improving our infrastructure so we can do this more easily in the future. We definitely do take all markets seriously, and do not intend to be en-us centric.

Totally agree! Microsoft still want to concentrate on the market in US only. Not many in my region can experience the appealing Live Search.

eh, NBC's coverage isn't all that. The fact they time delay almost everything on the West coast of the U.S. is a real annoyance. I've been watching CBC Canada's coverage live and I'll see the same stuff on NBC no earlier than 5 hours later if not the next day. I don't understand with NBC broadcasting on about 6 channels on cable as well as online why they have to time delay every single thing. Plus, they rarely cover any other athletic competitors if they're not American. American television isn't all everyone says it is.

@Chris, Yes I have to agree. Today morning when I tried again I am getting some old news along with news that had happened much later. This has to be looked into.

The IOC is mainly at fault for all of this. I personally think NBC has done a great job with coverage. It's great to find some Olympic sport at any time of day. While at first I thought having coverage on NBC, MSNBC, USA, CNBC, and Bravo would be too overwhelming, I've actually got the hang of it and it all feels very nicely organized. So for all the localized coverage issues, the IOC should be held at fault there. Like Chris said, they deal with each country individually.

spot on Chris. Microsoft needs to think about markets outside US to compete with Google. Olympics overage on the MSN Toolbar & Windows Media Center is also limited to US only.

Vasudev - the news page updates frequently, so you probably won't see what I saw, hence the screenshot (I saw it over a period of at least 30mins while writing this post). Stories about the 100m aren't even close to what it should have been showing though.

Mephiles: totally agree, the BBC has had some great coverage, if you're British. I've been talking to some Australians over here and it sucks for them. What makes it worse is that Australians here can't view videos on australian sites, just like nobody in the UK can view videos on the NBC site. This all comes down to the IOC selling the rights to each country individually though, its not the media partners fault.

It's a good thing the BBC here in Britain have supermassive coverage. Otherwise, it would be hopeless for me to find Olympic news.

I agree, from the very beginning I have been requesting to make all features of Live Search made available in all markets, worldwide.

I am forced to set my market to US to get all nice Olympics related features.

But I am getting the correct page with 'latest Olympics news' , may be you have to refresh the page (or cache remove) and see if it gives newer page?
