Skype for Outlook.com now available worldwide

skype outlookLast April, Skype debuted a preview of Skype for Outlook.com, a browser plugin (available for the “most recent versions” of IE, Chrome, and/or Firefox) that enables you to conduct Skype conversations via your browser from within Outlook.com, once you’ve linked your Skype and Microsoft accounts.

Now today, a post on the Skype Garage and Updates blog has announced that Skype for Outlook.com, which began as a preview in the UK, and then the US and Germany, is now available worldwide (even though the original announcement promised worldwide availability last summer – so much for a faster moving Microsoft).

To get started, once you’ve linked your Skype and Microsoft accounts, head to this plugin installation page and follow the instructions:
